I have 4+ years of continuous nanny experience, but have been working with children since I was 13. My experience began with my brother (now 8), who I have always been like a second mother to. In high school I began babysitting on occasion. Once graduated from high school, I worked in a church nursery- tending for multiple infants and toddlers at once. I started with my first actual nanny family in 2013 in Knoxville, Tn. The youngest at the time was 12 months and the older one was 3yo. I nannied for them until February of 2016, when I moved to Atlanta, Ga. My duties would include lots of hands-on play, crafts, reading, meals/ snacks, diapers/ potty training, school drop-off/pickup, taking on excursions, bathing, and occasional overnight stays as well. In Atlanta, I nannied for two families in the afternoons/ evenings. One family included a 5yo, a 7yo, and occasionally a 12yo. The second family was a 9yo and an 11yo. For these families I would handle school pick-up, play, crafts, driving to practice/OT/park, snacks and occasional meal prep, bathing, reading, etc. In Atlanta, I had multiple pre-schools and daycares I visited to teach sports and skills to children ages 2yo to 5yo, assisting in physical, emotional, and interpersonal development. I have also been a counselor at a children's summer camp and volunteered several hours at a Children's Hospital. I have experience with autism, as my 6yo nephew is on the further end of the spectrum. I have experience with food allergies as well, and I am CPR certified.
