I was raised in a home where my mother provided child care services to school teachers' children. At the age of 12, I began baby-sitting children. While in college, I baby-sat professors' children as well as being a part-time nanny for families. I graduated with a B.A. in Psychology with a concentration in Child Psychology. Initially, out of school, I counseled adults and continued to baby-sit. I have worked as a Lead Teacher in a nursery school and as a teacher in an after-school program. I worked as a Membership Manager for the xx in Massachusetts and Virgina. The last ten plus years, I entered into the business world where I did accounting/cost accounting/analysis. I enjoy working with children and they seem to enjoy me. Currently, I am very involved in the children ministry with my church:during the school year, VBS,Track & Field Outreach Clubs, assist with Sunday School and Nursery.
From 1998-1999, I was a part-time nanny for a families 1-year-old girl. From 2000-2001, I baby-sat for her on weeknights and weekends. I also house and cat sat for them when they were out of town. I took their daughter to the playground, biking, walking, played games with her, did crafts, took her the Children's Museum, etc. I still remain in contact with the family and feel they are an important part of my life. I began babysitting a families three boys in 1989 when they were ages 2, 5, and 8, and continued to baby-sit the boys until they were all in eighth grade. I watched them full-time during the summers when able as well as weekends and weeknights during the school year. I ran errands, assisted with housework, played games with them, allowed them to have other friends over, made them meals, took them swimming, to movies, etc. To this day, I remain in good contact with them. They have turned into family and consider me like a sister and daughter. Currently I part-time sit/nanny for various families with children ranging from 7 months old - 9 years old. I prepare meals, assist with laundry, dishes, cleaning around house, very active with taking kids on walks, to parks, various events in the area, playgrounds, arts/crafts, games, run errands I've watched children over long weekends while their parents were out of town.
