My name's Kelly. I have just finished working for a fantastic family taking care of their two precious little girls aged 2 and 3 & 1/2. Unfortunately, do to some health issues the family can no longer afford a full-time nanny, and are very sad to have to be letting me go. So it's time for me to find a new family to care for. I have experience with multiple children including twins, and children with ADD/ADHD rangning in age from 1-11 years of age, and as a camp counselor for teens 12-17. I'm also very involved with a nonprofit orginaztion that does weekend long workshops for at risk youth. Essentially emotional education for teens, and I'm a life coach. I'm also a certified TEFL instructor, so little ones still learning how to talk will benefit greatly from my experience, and can help older children with school work as well. I'm an animal lover, but can't have any where I live, so if you have pets it's a bonus for me. I have no problem getting down on the floor to play with little ones, or being silly with them, but I can be serious when the time calls for it. I'm a kid at heart, and a bit of a geek. I also love to read, play games, or do puzzles, and feel that TV/movies/video games should be used as a reward for good behavior and not an electronic babysitter. My philosophy is positive reinforcement. I'd rather reward a child for good behavior than punish them with timeouts for bad behavior. I also have a full FBI lavel background check available upon request during the interview process.

My last childcare experience was wonderful! Two boys ages 2 and 4 now. They brought so much happiness and love to my life. I left my job as a substitute teacher to take care of them. This was because they are both my nephews and our families didn't think they we're ready for daycare. I volunteered to quit my job and watch them so both their parents could work. I loved spending so much time with them and I'll never regret quitting my job. Although now one is in pre-school and the other in daycare I'm still a big part of their lives.

My first job was babysitting when I was 13 for my neighbors. Years later when I was older they had another child and I became their part time nanny. I am still in contact with this family today. Growing up I also spent a lot of time looking after my younger cousins. Within my physical therapy training I also worked with infants and young toddlers.

I started out babysitting and while in highschool worked as a pt nanny afterschool for a 7yr old boy for 2 yrs. I then went to nanny for an infant until he was 3. I worked as a mothers helper for a family of 4 children from ages 5-16. I then moved to California (from the east coast) and worked in elementary classrooms as a teachers aide/sub and paraprofessional. In 2007 I became licensed as a foster parent where I took in children from newborn to age 6 on an emergency basis, short term as well as long term.

I have over twenty years working with children and being a housekeeper. I have worked with children from birth to teenager. I would drive the kids to school and to the different activities that they had during the day. For the care of infants, I would always make sure they would be bathed and on the schedule that the parents had for the child. I would take them for walks in the park everyday and we would play games that were appropriate for the age group. The most important thing for me is to give the best care possible, always be respectful with the parents parenting styles, and be able to create a special bond with the child.
