I have a Master’s Degree in Pediatric Nursing, am CPR certified, and teach nutrition health at Webster University to dance students. I am the eldest of 9 children, have 4 amazing children who are adults (3 of whom have returned to live in St. Louis), and am blessed with 3 grandchildren “one on the way” (due in August). I am 60 years old and wanting to change gears from being out in the professional world to being at home with children again. I play the drum and enjoy art and singing. I am very flexible, organized and task oriented. I love the outdoors rain, snow, or shine. I am a runner and have a daily yoga practice. One of the greatest blessings in my life is having children and playing, learning, and problem solving with them- watching them unfold and grow into who they are meant to be. Now, I get to do this with my grandchildren. I would like to be able to bring 2 of my grandchildren with me 1 or 2 days per week (toddler and infant) after I establish a relationship and routine with your child/children. My care style is child directed. I am attentive, playful, stimulating, and calming depending on the child’s needs. Examples of mental and physical stimulation I would provide would be driven by developmental readiness and individual child needs such as the following: Babies: sensory activities, lots of holding, talking to, singing to, hand and foot play, laughing, smiling, and early reading routines Toddlers: shapes, colors, gross motor play, fine motor play, word play, early number concepts, reading routines, singing Preschoolers: shapes, colors, numbers, alphabet, word play, rhyme, gross motor play, fine motor play, reading routines, singing School Age: games, sports, bike riding, reading, signing, drumming, yoga I believe that calming activities are a necessary complement to stimulation, therefore, I would consistently provide regular and periodic calming and self-soothing activities such as: quiet reading, holding, lap sitting, soft singing, art play, yoga, and time talking. Outdoor time is important, and I would provide your child/children with outdoor play, walks, etc rain or shine. I find it valuable to do activities of daily living with children of all ages such as: making meals, cleaning, laundry, and yard work. This is an important part of a child’s growth as a responsible family and community member and offer many opportunities for teaching/learning. I would be willing to do light housework while watching your child/children. I support children’s healthy sense of self with re-directing behaviors as needed. I use kind, firm, consistent boundaries. I delight in children of all ages and enjoy reflecting back to them their goodness and the blessing that they are. My fee is $900/week for 1 child, $1200/week for 2 children. I am capable of caring for a special needs child.

I have a great deal of experience working with children in a variety of settings. I served as a nanny for my Aunt and Uncle's family for seven years. It was amazing being able to see their three children develop from infants and toddlers to teenagers. When I was very young, I began babysitting for various families in the St. Louis area on a regular basis. I have cared for infants, young teenagers, and everything in-between. In addition to babysitting and serving as a nanny, I also have experience teaching. In high school, I worked taught Irish music and dancing. I worked with children between the ages of 2.5 and 12 years of age. It was a pleasure to see them learn about the traditions of Ireland and embrace the heritage of a foreign land. Furthermore, I have worked as a teacher's aide at a school located in Webster Groves since my junior year of high school. In this position, I help plan field trips, lead class discussions, and prepare art projects each week. This job has allowed me to work with children from many different cultural backgrounds. It has also given me the opportunity to learn a great deal about the philosophy of teaching. This idea centers on the child's intelligence and significance in society. I have truly embraced this Method since I began working at this school.

Growing up in a large extended family, I have been around to help bring up quite a number of my younger cousins over the years, as well as be on call for a few of my parent's neighbors when a date night was past due or after school care was needed. Being the only girl right dab in the middle of the family line, I am usually called upon to keep all those younger than me entertained, which is particularly easy since I can still relate to liking "young people" entertainment. As of today, I am happiest when I can get away for a week or two and help take care of my favorite and only niece/goddaughter. While It might have been a handful of years since I had changed a diaper prior to her birth last May, I can say, with a smile and a laugh, that it is like riding a bicycle, "one never forgets how," though I do admit it isn't as particularly enjoyable.

a) Full-time nanny experience. I have babysat consistently since I was 12 years old. I feel comfortable working with children of all ages. I have worked with infants, with twins, and with special needs children. I have experience with single children and with families with multiple children. b) Program counselor/daycare provider at a private summer school. I assisted teachers with student activities, supervising play and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students ages 3-12. My main responsibility was to care for a group of about 15 children from 3-5 years old. In addition, I implemented and coordinated activities in the after-school daycare program. Note: My experience was particularly rewarding! I had a strong rapport with the children, including those who were not under my primary supervision, and received great feedback from supervisors and parents. c) Both of my parents are educators. My mother is a private school French teacher from 5th - 8th grade and my father taught college-level mathematics until his recent retirement. I have always enjoyed helping my mother with her lesson planning and her grading. I also enjoyed tutoring her students from time to time. French is my first language and I lived in France for 6 months between high school and college. d) I have a strong musical background. I have played the cello for most of my life and I have performed professionally. e) I have worked with children facing physical and mental challenges at an equestrian farm. I learned a great deal working with the children and therapists.

My name's Mari. I'm 21 and currently looking for a full time nanny position. I have been babysitting since I was 13, and nannying since I was 18. I have been a supervisor at a boarding facility for the past 16 months. My fiance has three children, and the hours of my previous job made it difficult to have any quality family time. So I'm coming back to child care, which I love. I am interested in a Monday through Friday position, making approximately $400-$600/per week, open to negotiation and based on the family's needs. A little about me... I take classes online at Penn Foster. Originally my classes were for Veterinary Technician, but I am exploring my options in Business Management. While I'm earning my degree, I would love to become a special part of a family's life by caring for their child (chlidren). I have experience with ages newborn to teenage, and am comfortable with multiples. I follow the parent's rules regarding discipline, nutrition, play, etc... but always encourage a positive, healthy, and loving atmosphere for growth. I enjoy doing arts and crafts, playing make believe, playing outside, reading, writing, practicing skills, and so much more that a child needs. I am stern but caring, respectful, reliable, responsible, and honest. Caring for children is something I simply enjoy doing. With my fiance's three little ones, I am well adjusted to organized chaos and am able to multi-task while remaining calm in a way only a good nanny (or mommy) can. I do not do drugs and have no criminal record and a clean background check on file. In addition to caring for children, as a nanny I am able to care for pets, clean, do laundry, cook, run errands, etc... as needed/requested by the family. Please contact me if you'd like to speak further.

My experience began uniquely, as my mother had a daycare in our home and she (as the ultimate caregiver) taught my siblings and I how to love and care for children that weren't our own. The children she cared for appear in many of our old family photos. We considered them a part of our family and we loved them just the same. My siblings and I innately learned how to love and respect children and it is presently evident, as we all are involved with education today! Since beginning work at the age of 16 all but a few of my jobs have involved children! I have mainly worked as a co-lead teacher and an assistant teacher in various daycares, but I have also worked as a literacy tutor, and after-school teacher, an English teacher (while living in Spain), a nanny, baby-sitter, Spanish teacher, and day camp counselor! I began baby-sitting at the age of 12 for a family that is still a part of my life - I recently was invited to both children’s high school AND college graduations!
