A little bit about me…

Hi, my name's Alexis and i’m a 28 year old Tennessee native ! I spent most of my time caring for my slew of younger siblings until I became a nanny of three rambunctious boys and a little firecracker girl at 19. I also provided monitor services for special education kids ranging from 5 years old to 20 years of age. From there my experience shifted into the food industry, but as always I returned back to my calling. I became an assistant teacher at a family owned daycare and have worked with all ages from 6 weeks to 5 years. My latest adventure in the childcare world has been caring for two under two. Due to that I have underwent a variety of trainings that have left me with extensive knowledge of a child's mental and physical. I specialize in allowing children to grow through their typical day to day activities and allowing them within reason to be their own person.

Atlanta, GA

A little bit about us…

We are looking for a full-time, live-in nanny to care for our growing family!

We are building a beautiful home in the Old Fourth Ward of Atlanta, just off the Beltline! You will have your own private suite with a private bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette.

We would also like someone who is willing to help with basic housekeeping, cooking, and grocery shopping.

Please let us know if you would be interested!
The Washington Family - Hiring in Atlanta

The Washington Family

Atlanta, GA
$15/hr
1 kid

A little bit about us…

The Washington family is seeking an energetic, attentive and responsible nanny to provide care for our 3-year-old son. We're looking for someone who can bring their warmth and professionalism to enrich our little boy's world while ensuring his safety and well-being.

Our little boy is a sweet bundle of joy who enjoys running around outdoors and is full of infectious laughter. His nanny's role is to engage him in enjoyable, age-appropriate activities and watchful care as he enjoys his exploratory adventures. He communicates with sounds rather than words, so being able to pay close attention to his actions and sounds is crucial.

The nanny will be expected to assist his grandmother in looking after him, essentially taking some weight off her shoulders. The work schedule is approximately 4 hours a day, for 5 days a week. Tasks would include taking him outside for playtime, offering snacks (which will be prepared in advance), and assist in his potty training journey.

This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys working with toddlers, can easily interpret non-verbal cues, and is patient and compassionate while handling the joys and challenges that this age presents. This is not simply a child-minding job. We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in our child’s development and happiness.

This is a part-time position amounting to around 30 hours a week. The pay rate we're offering is $15/hr+. The successful applicant can look forward to joining a family environment that is friendly and supportive. If this sounds like the perfect role for you, we would love to hear from you!

How to Find a Babysitter in Atlanta, GA

Nanny Lane is a child care website meant to help you find a babysitter in your area. Our child care services include background checks, PLUS, and payroll.

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Atlanta, GA

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Atlanta can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Atlanta Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Georgia?
  • Do you have a Georgia driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
