Part-Time Available Nanny Kristen in Houston, TX

15.00/hr
A little bit about me…Hi there, My name is Kristen and I am a 23-year-old college student, pursuing my MSW online in hopes to work with children and teens who are walking through trauma and need a safe person to walk alongside them as they navigate life. I have nannied for about 8 years and I love it! I am experienced with newborns all the way to teens. It's no secret that I love kids, teens, and families, it brings me absolute joy to not only work for a family but to become apart of a families life. I particularly enjoy doing arts and crafts with kids like painting, drawing, sketching, beading, baking, and more complex art like paper mache. I also enjoy all the outside play! I am CPR/AED/and first aid trained with infants, kids, and adults, and I can provide references. I am open to working 20-25 hours a week any days ( including weekends) I am also open to family sharing ( looking after 2 families at once and having families split costs) I am also okay with doing overnight shifts

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were…I have been a kids and youth director at a Christian church, I have also nannied/babysat for 6+ years, and have taken early development classes.
Activities I enjoy doing with children…Crafts! I love painting, clay, play dough, drawing, paper mache, I really do enjoy messy play. I also love outdoor play and games, there is so much variety that can be done during each season!
The most important part about being a nanny…To become a part of the families life, to have clear communication with the family and to work alongside parents in what they already doing to raise their kid(s)
My experience with special needs children…During my time as a kids director I worked very closely with kids with autism, sensory integration, and CP. I have tools, and tricks up my sleeve to help bring safety and calm to a situation
My favorite nanny moment…This past summer I got a massive tarp and put it on the grass outside and got shaving cream and water for sensory play/ water play and the 5 kids looked at me in total shock and said, " we can play with this" and my response was "absolutely" and the other kid said "but shaving cream is what my dad uses to shave his face!"
