Activities I enjoy doing with children…My favorite activity to do with children is swimming! I taught swim lessons and lifeguarded for 3 years. Other activities I love is anything art related, walks to the park, and picnics!
The most important part about being a nanny…The most important part about being a nanny is building that special relationship with the child. It's important to help the child feel like you're family and that you belong in their home, rather than being a stranger.
My experience with special needs children…I don't have any experience working with a special needs child on a nanny basis but I have taught private swimming lessons to children with special needs for three years. I have experience with autism, non-verbal children, and cerebral palsy.
My favorite nanny moment…The most heart-warming moment of nannying for me was the day before I left for college. I visited my care family for the last time to say goodbyes after caring for their daughter, Alice, for four years. Alice made me a bracelet with rainbow-colored beads. I wore that bracelet for 3 months in to college, but now I leave it in my jewelry box so it doesn't break. At fall break, I made sure to put my bracelet on when I met with Alice again. Alice was so excited to see me wearing the bracelet- and she was even wearing hers!
