Relevant experience where I also cared for children were…Pre School Teacher aid 3 years
Activities I enjoy doing with children…I played sports all throughout high school so when the whether permits my favorite activity is to be outside. Whether it be a walk to the park, kicking around a ball, playing catch, playing with your dog while supervising children, etc. I love the outdoors and think that children need to be outdoors in order to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
The most important part about being a nanny…The most important part to me about being a nanny (especially during these times) is their safety and well-being. Knowing that my kids know that I will never put them in danger or make any decisions that could do so. I practice safety when I am out in public or around people who do not live in my home. Covid is dangerous. Another more lighthearted part that I love and this very important when you’re a nanny is being hands on. Parents are not hiring you to sit around and watch the children play or supervise the children while they do activities. It’s important to connect with the children. Whether it be playing with them or doing something else they enjoy. I like to take a more active role so that the kids know that not only am I there to care for them but I am a friend too!
My experience with special needs children…I volunteered with special needs children at my high school all 4 years. My responsibilities included feeding, teaching, and providing basic care. (Message me and I can provide references from my advisor)
My favorite nanny moment…My favorite moment with my last nanny family was a hard one. It was very sweet but it broke my heart. I had been nannying for a family for over 2 years until they moved. The children whom I have grown to love and care for and still speak to the parents to this day, gave me a big group hug and cried and told me they were going to miss me so much. It was heartbreaking but at the same time I am so grateful for my time as their nanny because I got to watch them grow and learn and be an important part of their lives.
