I’m a nanny because I believe Zig Ziglar says it best, "Kids go where there is excitement. They stay where there is love." I believe that excitement and love can be found in the home. I understand that parents often sacrifice a lot for their children and because of that are not always able to spend as much time as they wish teaching and showing the children values that the children will carry with them for the rest of their lives. I'm positive I could contribute in a way both beneficial to the parents and children. I believe one of the greatest gifts in the world is watching children succeed in things they attempt. I think being a nanny is a great way to contribute to the future we place in children minds and imaginations.
My past childcare experience I have had the privilege of working as a nanny for two years. I started one job when the baby was 5 weeks old and had a wonderful time with them until he was 14 months old and I moved to MA. In MA I worked for a family from the time the baby was 6 months old until she was 18 months old. I'm looking for another wonderful family to let me come in and help them with one of the most precious gifts the world can give. I'm comfortable in my ability to plan a fun, educational week full of exciting experiences. In previous jobs weekly activities included; playdates and visits to the library, zoo, and aquarium. I have taken children to little gym and swim lessons (where I had to be hands on, in the pool, helping teach them to swim). I also grew up babysitting my nieces and nephew and friends of the family so I'm very comfortable in my abilities to be a great nanny.
Additional comments I am a very energetic, creative individual that loves finding new, exciting ways to teach and entertain children. I believe that children shouldn't be placed in front of things that are made to entertain them but should be taught to learn ways to entertain themselves and not have to rely on television, video games, etc. I'm a very hands on person and I completely believe in getting down on the floor and playing with the children. I understand that my responsibility is to care, protect, and also interact with the children. I can assure you that I'm not going to just watch the children; I'm going to be right there along with them discovering all the great and exciting things this world has to offer. For a child the world should be a humongous, educational playground just waiting for them to explore. I have a 20 month old I would be interested in bringing with me.
