I’m a nanny because I feel like being a nanny is the most rewarding job there is in the whole wide world. (Besides being a mommy, of course!) There's NOTHING better than helping a child overcome separation anxiety and want to reach their arms out to you for love and comfort. NOTHING better than watching a child learn the color "yellow" for the first time, or come home and show excitement over getting an "A" on the project we worked for months on, or knowing that you've helped a family stay connected as a family and help the household run smoothly. It's just where I'm suppose to be.
My past childcare experience Ever since I was a little girl, my dream job was to be a mommy. When people asked what I was going to be when I grew up, "mommy" was my answer. I didn't know there were other things to be! And being young and right out of high school, "mommy" wasn't really where I wanted to be just yet! So, I decided to start a career in Child Care. I was employed by Kindercare Learning Center right out of high school and taught preschool and toddler aged children. I worked at Kindercare for 2 years until I was offered a nanny job I couldn't refuse. I was recently employed with the same family for the last 5 years. I was hired back in 2004 when their first little boy was 4 months old. They also had a little girl in 2006 that I was with since birth. They were/are an amazing family. The kids and I adore each other and I love them still like they are my own. Although, upon finding out that my husband and I were going to have a baby in December of 2008, I needed to cut back my hours and the family just couldn't accommodate what I was looking for. We ended up finding a GREAT nanny who wanted full time only, and I gave up my job to be a stay-at-home mom. So, here we are! My daughter is 7 months old and the most happy, loving, easy-going baby. I'm absolutely loving my job at home, but I would love to get back into the "working" world!
Additional comments My CPR/First Aid certificate has expired, but I am willing to renew upon hire.
