I’m a nanny because I have loved kids for as long as I can remember and that's why I became a teacher. As a teacher, I work with so many children and it is a blessing to have the opportunity to make a difference in their lives. Children are our future! Although I LOVE teaching, it is a high-stress job. I have always worked very hard to meet each individual child's needs, working with their parents and so on. Although very rewarding and full of blessings, I am ready to invest my love, energy, care, and time into one family. I would not be happy if I were not working with kids, so that's where becoming a nanny again comes into the picture! I really miss nannying and the strong relationship that is built between me and the children.
My past childcare experience Teaching: This is my 5th year teaching elementary education. I've taught grades 1-4 (regular school year and summer school). Although I LOVE teaching, I currently live across the country from my family, and it is time to come back north. I nannied for 4 years in college, and really miss the one-on one time with children and would LOVE to use my teaching experience as a tutor, if applicable to your family. :) Nannying: In college, I was a nanny for 3 different families. 1) family was three girls-two pre-teens and a teenager. 1 year @ 20-25 hours per week plus some weekends/holidays while their parents took out of town trips. The next 3 years, I still took care of them while their parents traveled out of town 3-4 times per year. 2.) family: 1 year, 2 boys-4 yrs and 7 yrs old. 20 hours/week nannying/cleaning. 3.) family: 2 boys, infant, 4 yr. old, 10 hours per week and occasional babysitting. Baby-sitting: I started baby-sitting @ 9 years old for a neighbor friend and continued through college. Taking care of children has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, past baby-sitting, because I am the eldest of 3 siblings in my family, so I have been "taking care" of kids since my siblings were born. :)
Additional comments I am a strong Christian actively living my faith and would prefer to work with a family that shares my beliefs and values. With my extensive experience working with children at a high range of ages in multiple settings (baby-sitting, nannying, teaching), I am confident that I will be an excellent care-giver and be a wonderful addition to the right family.
