I’m a nanny because I want to become a nanny because I will get more one-on-one time with the children I'm caring for. Being in a center is great and it has been really rewarding, but having 16-18 kids in my class doesn't allow me to fully connect to each child and their specific needs. I feel more like a referee than a teacher at times.
My past childcare experience I have been caring for children since I was a teenager. I was just a basic babysitter. I received my first nanny position when I lived in Las Vegas in 2005. I cared for a 18 month old little girl and my own two year old son. I was with that family for about a year and half at which time they decided to put her in preschool to get her social skills to improve. My next opportunity to work with children was in North Carolina. I worked at a School. I worked there for six and half years. My job titles with this school were, floater of all age groups ranging from six week olds to ten year olds and assistant teacher of the three year olds and assistant teacher of the two year olds. Since November of 2013, I've worked as Lead teacher of the three year classroom at a Child Development Center.
