I’m a nanny because Hi Interested Parent! My name is Kamali and I'm a 21yr old student living in Uptown Manhattan, NYC. I love working in childcare because I am a naturally loving, energetic, and silly person who has had experience with children from young babies through pre-teens. I am extremely punctual, creative, and loyal. Making an effort to form a bond with the child is important to me, as well as keeping communication open between the parents and myself. I have the patience and energy to work with children. I worked with children at the Armory Center where I spent time with a group of about 20 kids ranging between 6 and 8. I encouraged their participation in activities from reading books, to creating games that were designed to encourage teamwork and other important life skills. My most recent babysitting job was taking care of a 9yr old boy who is diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He and I shared a special connection, and I am still close to the family. I consider housework related to the children my responsibility. This includes cooking healthy meals, tidying up the play space, and their bedrooms, and attending to their laundry, all while involving them in the clean up process so they learn about responsibility. I love to do arts and crafts and going on trips to educational sites such as museums and art galleries. My primary focus would be caring for the children, but I am happy to help with odds and ends should you need some extra help. I believe the main key with children is fun, so I try to make everything fun whether it has to do with schoolwork or just walking down the street. Strengths that I can bring to your family include creating a safe, comfortable, fun environment for the children. I motivate kids to be active, rather than sitting in front of the TV/video games/Internet. I am big on providing firm yet loving boundaries and consistency for children, and have had promising results using both proactive and reactive discipline. Thank you for your consideration, I will be looking forward to speaking with you soon! *Seeking live-out FT until school begins again, when I will need to have less hours *English and Spanish spoken fluently *Happy to work with animals in the home *Willing to travel and have a current passport *Comfortable swimming with kids *Seeking a class to get re-certified in CPR/first aid *Comfortable with kids on the subways and buses *I am a non-smoker *I charge $14 per hour, $18 per hour for anything over 45hr hours per week. *References available upon request Best Regards, Kamali
