I’m a nanny because I loved raising my sons and taking care of young children. I love walking into a room and having their faces light up when they see me. You don't find that in the business world. I enjoyed reading to my children each day. I believe that early education starts in the home. I believe you can teach children through games, reading and exercise. My children did not watch much TV, so when they did get to watch TV, it was a big deal and I made sure it was an educational show. My husband of 30 years tends to give me the credit for how well our sons turned out. (but it was a joint effort.) The most important thing for a child is that someone pays attention to them and really listens to what they have to say to them. A child also needs structure in their lives. A set schedule of activities to include, reading, exercise and always learning new things. I provided that for my sons and the other children I used to babysit for and I would like to have the opportunity to provide it again to other children.

My past childcare experience My past childcare experience includes being a stay at home mother of two sons. I used to exchange daycare services with other stay at home mothers. I have always wanted to pursue a career in childcare, but in order to afford to raise my two children and have them attend college, I had to take a position which paid a much higher salary than a childcare position. Now that my sons are established, I can finally afford to pursue my first career choice in the field childcare. In July, 2013 I recently resigned from my 16 years. I held a secret clearance and worked as a Technical & Logistic assistant and later as a Property Administrator.

Additional comments I am finally at a stage in my life, where I can work at a job that I love doing. Although I do not have a resume full of previous childcare experience, I know I am good at raising children. Most people think that a nanny is just there to watch the children, but a nanny is so much more. Children learn by watching and because of that fact, you want someone that exhibits values that are expressed not just by there words, but also by their actions.
