I’m a nanny because As stated above I have always enjoyed working with and caring for children. I have been around children my entire life and I cannot imagine doing anything other than childcare or elementary education. Children are my life and my philosophy has always been that children come first no matter what! I think that I would make the best nanny because of the friendly, caring, and nurturing demeanor that I have always had. I think being a nanny would be such a rewarding and wonderful job! It is a career that will continue to allow me to give back to those in need of assistance, and will allow me to continue making a difference in the lives of those children I am caring for. Helping a family in need of childcare is something I can and will do to the best of my ability. I will go above and beyond to fulfill the needs of the children I work with and provide the love, care, guidance, encouragement, and attention they deserve.

My past childcare experience My entire life has revolved around children, childcare and early childhood/ elementary education. I am the oldest of four in my family therefore I was always the nurturing one who took care of, looked after, and positively influenced my younger siblings. I come from a very close-knit, large family with numerous younger cousins whom I watch over a lot. Throughout middle school and high school I was a babysitter for 3 families on a set weekly schedule. I actually felt like a live-out nanny for them because I was around them so much and grew so close with the children and their family. I cooked them lunch and dinner, took them to the park or the swim club, went on family vacations with them, and helped them grow socially, emotionally and cognitively. It was wonderful working so closely with each family and seeing these children grow in all aspects over the years I cared for them. During this time I also volunteered at Whiteland Montessori School (preschool & kindergarten) whenever I had in-service days or when Downingtown Area Schools had different holiday breaks than WMS. This is where my passion for becoming a teacher really kicked in. After graduating from Downingtown High School I went to Temple University where I studied Elementary and Early Childhood education. In May of 2009 I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Education Degree and received my PA Educational Certificate Level 1: N-6th grade. For the past two years I have taught Kindergarten, in long-term substitute positions. My current teaching position ends this June, which I am going to miss dearly. After much thought lately I have become very interested in changing paths a bit to become a full-time nanny. The reason for this change is that I miss working with, caring for, nurturing, and educating children on a more personal and one-on-one basis. I myself am not ready for children of my own, but I find such joy and reward in experiencing what I did in the past as a babysitter, big sister, and older cousin. I think being a nanny would be even more rewarding for myself and for the children and family I will work so closely with compared to working in an overcrowded public school setting. Family is something I deeply cherish and I would love to lend a helping hand to a family in need of someone to help take care of their little ones while they work or do other necessary duties. I am a fun, loving, energetic, hard working, enthusiastic, reliable and caring person who will fit right in with your family if you give me the opportunity! Children come first, and I will treat your children as if they are my own!!

Additional comments I am a Pennsylvania certified teacher with a plethora of childcare experiences from babysitting, volunteering at a pre-school, and working as a day camp counselor for 7-9 year olds, to being a head Kindergarten teacher in the Philadelphia and Coatesville Area School Districts. I have up to date clearances, and I have taken various continuing education classes. I have letter of recommendations from former and current principals, supervisors, cooperating teachers, co-workers and family friends. I love being active and doing outdoorsy activities such as playing sports, bike riding, hiking, and swimming. I am also creative and artistic and enjoy doing crafts with children. *I am trained and certified in CPR and First Aid for infant, children & adults (May 2011).

I have babysat for many different families since I was about 16 years old. While in college studying childhood development I gained experience working in a day care facility. I floated around to all of the different classrooms learning about many different age groups. I adore children and have focused my career goals on working with them. I have experience with children with a variety of special needs such as autism, spinal bifida, and mental retardation. I currently work part time as an early intervention special instructor with children aged 0-3 years with developmental delays (These hours are minimal and flexible).

Have had multiple babysitting jobs in the past. Most recent was for a family of 3 at the Jersey shore where I provided nanny care for the summer. I took the kids to the beach, park, movies or something active! I love to cook and clean, so I do not mind those responsibilities.

All of my life I have enjoyed working and caring for children. This is what led me to completing my Masters in Elementary Education to become an Elementary School teacher. I love being able to meet the needs of the children and therefore have begun pursuing my certificate in Special Education as well. I worked as a nanny for the four years of my undergraduate degree. I worked for a family of 3 young children which included pick up and drop off from school and activities, cooking dinner, completing homework and playing with them as well. I loved every minute of it and find working with children very fulfilling.

Since age three I was an aunt and was surrounded by children all my childhood. At age twelve I started babysitting. I've always known I wanted to work with kids. Out of high school I worked with kids from grades first through six for three years in a school program. Currently I am working in a childcare center with infants. I have been working there for about a year and a half. It's a fun and rewarding job!
