More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have done many in-house part time nanny jobs in the past, and used to work every Tuesday from 8:00 to 12:00 with a group of children ranging in age from 0 months-4 years old. This was at a past church, Hardin Baptist Church.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy taking small walks and doing any outdoor activities with children (even if it is only pushing them in stroller, carrying them if an infant, etc.) as I love the outdoors myself. On a rainy or cold day, I enjoy doing arts and crafts that inspire the child's creativity and entertain them, as well as doing building activities (blocks, legos, jenga, etc) to influence play and motor skills.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters the most to me about being a nanny/babysitter is not only to help parents and caretakers relax and regulate from stress, but to also help children expand their imagination and creativity and engage motor skills. I believe that it is important to give children our all, and to let them know that they matter.
My experience with special needs children...
I have much experience with special needs children. I have a sixteen year old older brother who as diagnosed with severe non verbal autism at 2 years old. Since I was young, I have researched and read books and learned much about special needs and autism, as well as learned what he exactly needs, and how to differ this from what I would normally do in a way that benefits him. Other than this, at my Tuesday job a year ago, a few of the children there were ADHD/Autism diagnosed, as well as CP. I love working with special needs children, and I love making them feel included and helping them know that they are loved and deserve to have fun!
