A little bit about us

Hi,
I am looking for a person to watch 2 kids full of life. I work a pretty set schedule. So both kids do have a form of Autism. My son which is almost 6 has a mild version. Some loud sounds, change, some texture issues. Does have some behavior issues. But he is normally easy to calm down.y daughter who just turned 2 is more sever. All sudden loud noises, a lot going on, several textured. She has her days. She does have some other medical problems. She is hearing impaired, does wear glasses because her vision is really bad, and her eye is going cross. Both kids have sever food allergies. My son is epi pen dependent allergy for pineapples, my daughter has a milk protein allergy. It makes her really sick. She also has sever GERD. Over all they are good kids. Only thing I really ask is care for the kids at my house. Can bring 2 sitters place if not 2 far out my way with other rules for them. Feed them, change them play with them, and teach them. I am in the process of teaching my son to clean up after himself. But all I ask aty house is to try to keeps things packed up so my house is not a toy death trap. You will have my son during the week and both kids on weekends (friday, Saturday, sunday)

We are a loving family with two energetic boys, ages 3 and 5, and a friendly 11-year-old pitbull. The majority of these hours will just be with my 3 yr old. My 5 yr old will be dropped off at the house around 4 pm on tues and thursdays. Our 5 year-old is autistic. he has some speech, sensory and emotional regulation challenges, but they are both fun bright kids. Neither are fully potty trained yet, but we are working on it! Pay is $20hr.
We’re looking for a kind, patient, energetic and reliable caregiver with experience in early childhood and/or special needs care.
The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging environment and enjoy planning fun, developmentally appropriate activities such as crafts, games, and outdoor play. Anything to physically wear them out helps. Responsibilities include preparing simple meals, diaper changes, encouraging potty training, and simple cleaning. Any help with keeping the kitchen clean and messes picked up is appreciated! We’re excited to welcome someone who will become a positive and supportive part of our children’s lives!

How to Find a Special Needs Nanny Job in Kentucky

Start by creating your profile so that families can quickly learn about you. Once your profile highlights your skills and personality, you can message families to find the right nanny job for you.

What is a Special Needs Nanny Job in Kentucky

A special needs nanny focuses on caring for children with special needs. You’ll be responsible for creating individualized care and activities that combine both consistency and stimulation. The family you’re caring for will have schedules and preferences to share with you to ensure that their child receives the best care possible.

Preparing for a Special Needs Nanny Job Interview in Kentucky

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a special needs nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this diagnosis?
  • Can you tell us about your experiences with children with special needs?
  • Do you have any Kentucky special training?
  • What would you do if an emergency arises?
  • How strictly do you usually follow a schedule with children with special needs?

At this stage, you should come prepared with references from past special needs nanny jobs. It is a great opportunity to see how you fit in with the family and ask any questions about the responsibilities or compensation. To ensure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities; we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract.
