Planning to go back someday, I quit my hotel sales job when my oldest child was born. Now that my youngest child is leaving for college, I’m ready to start a new career and I finally know what I want to be when I grow up. There’s nothing I’d rather do or anything I’m better at than caring for and educating children. I’ve got countless years of childcare experience, a special knack for soothing colicky infants, loads of positive energy, a burning desire to make learning fun, experience as a Special Olympics Coach, & infinite patience and caring. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

At nine years of age, I started babysitting for the children in my neighborhood & didn’t stop until I’d paid my way through college. During college my favorite job (however unpaid) was training Special Olympic athletes in dressage. I’ve also raised 3 children of my own.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Weather permitting, I most like taking children outside for fresh air & exercise disguised as adventures… like treasure hunts, games, learning about nature, etc. It only takes a little extra creativity to make just as many happy memories indoors though!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Safety is of the utmost importance but it’s also imperative to create a super positive, healthy, happy, & loving environment for every child in your care.

My experience with special needs children...

During college, I had the best job (however unpaid) training Special Olympics athletes in dressage. Many years later, when my own children were little, we lived next door to my best friend who had 2 children diagnosed with autism. They spent as much time with us as they did at their own home & I couldn’t possibly feel more blessed than I am for that!
