More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Baby sat through high school and undergrad, and worked as a full-time nanny between undergrad and graduate school. I work clinically with children now as a therapist and have worked with adolescents as a volleyball coach and mentor in a philosophy club for kids at Berkeley High School. For the past two years I have been babysitting/helping my sisters raise their babies from infancy to now.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy meeting kids where they are at, joining them in the activities they find enjoyable. My imaginative capacity lends to finding play and enjoyment in most activities and I know how to deftly use humor in unenjoyable moments, when appropriate. I was an athlete all my life and am still today, so physically I can join in play with comfort and pleasure, and I am artistically inclined towards creation whether with imaginative plays or arts and crafts. I am always eager to expand my play repertoire
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being another figure in the child’s life who makes them feel secure and responded to.
My experience with special needs children...
For a year I worked as a teacher’s assistant in a Special Day Class (SDC) where students with disabilities received specialized instruction and support. Throughout high school I volunteered with the stroke survivor community (my mother created and ran for her patients) so I am incredibly competent as meeting people and kids where they are at with patience, attunement, and containment.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite aspect is when the relationship develops to a point where there is real trust and safety felt, when the child feels safe enough to be who they are in all their expressions and creations.

Hello! My name is Jazmine Ahmady. I am a Psychology & Brain Sciences major with a Minor in Legal Humanities at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Growing up, I had two other siblings and have watched over kids various times for family or friends! I also have experience working as a teacher's assistant for many years in my high school's special needs program. I am CPR + AED certified and currently work for UCSB's Athletic Training Intern Program. I have also given multiple months of volunteering for Isla Vista Elementary School's Power of Play Program to encourage prosocial behaviors between students at recess through play! (soccer, basketball, four-square, etc.) I am a major soccer fam and love playing with kids outdoors. I would call myself very active and enjoy my active play time with kids. I love kids and hope to support families in the Santa Barbara area with childcare. Please reach out to me with any questions!
