A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Allison, I don't have any actual nanny experience, but I am a mother myself. I have my youngest who is 8, and my niece that I adopted legally who is 9, as well as a stepson who is 10. I'm a very thorough and protective parent. I love kids and wouldn't mind helping out other parents in need of reliable and responsible childcare. Music is a big part of my family. We often bond over it, we love playing games and keeping each other on our toes. I can only do things part time, with our current crisis, my kids are home a lot more. My boyfriend (of 8 years) has a full time job so I am available from 4-10pm during the week, but I can do full days on weekends! As parents, with the way things currently are, I know we all need help! I want to help! Will add to note, I can do full time, for any family that is okay with my two youngest girls tagging along. They do the hybrid learning so every other week they are on their laptops all day doing school work. I provide my own hotspot

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was never a teacher or childcare worker. I worked briefly at the YMCA in their daycare, but I had 3 years experience caring for the elderly in two nursing homes. I also have three children of my own

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to color! Coloring is so much fun! I try to do this with my own children regularly. We also have dance parties often. I enjoy music and it is always a truly enjoyable experience when I can introduce my children to music and they genuinely like it. I also love hearing what they are currently liking. My oldest and I also cook together every night. I have recently been interested in Korean dishes, so she and I have been playing around with that.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The children. I feel like that's the obvious answer. Now, more than ever, I feel it is important to give our children extra care and attention. Unfortunately given the current climate, it is extremely difficult for both them and us. We as parents are trying to navigate this 'new normal' and our younger children don't understand why things are suddenly different. I believe they need a semblance of normalcy as well.

My experience with special needs children...

My sister is special needs. She has ADD, ADHD, Lead poisoning and PTSD. Unfortunately for us, our upbringing was less than ideal and I raised her.
