I live with two children aged 5 and 7, and have cared for the infants of family members. I also volunteered as a childcare worker for the 2-3 year olds at Destination Church.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I would be open to almost anything you can think of! I enjoy doing things like painting, drawing/ coloring, singing, dancing, cleaning, writing, building, playing guitar, piano and ukelele, sewing, gardening, fashion shows, shopping, cooking, etc... I'd also love to accompany children on school trips, recitals and any kind of event you may not be able to attend!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of being a nanny is being someone who can be trusted. Someone the child isn't scared of, and someone the parents don't have to worry about. Especially if it's over a long period of time, I think the children should be as excited as the parents to see their nanny come. I'd like to think most nannies have a positive impact and are great role models for the entire family. We should relieve stress rather than becoming the source of it. :)
My experience with special needs children...
I currently live with an autistic sister, and have experience with nonverbal children unable to walk.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Around 4-5 years ago, I was wearing my favorite t-shirt and feeding my baby sister. I went to burp her and she made the loudest sound I had heard come from her little body! I was so surprised by it, I didn't notice the giant spit up stain on my back until 2 hours later!
