A little bit about me

Hey! My name is Annika. I am the oldest girl of ten kids, so I have been caring for kiddos for most of my life. I have extensive experience with caring for multiple children, infants, including twins, and kids requiring a more specific type of attention, including those with developmental delays, Down Syndrome, Epilepsy, Autism, Diabetes, and ADHD. I am a certified lifeguard and Wilderness First Responder with CPR and First Aid certifications. I have nannied full-time for a total of 2 years, and part time for 8. I will arrive in Charlottesville in the beginning of June 2026 and will be there until May 2027 when I finish a program for medical school, and am looking for a part-time nannying job that will work with my class schedule.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am currently attending a college that specializes in outdoor leadership, so I spend a lot of time outside hiking, rock climbing, and horseback riding. I love to get the kids that I am caring for outside and doing fun activities like these. Some other things I love to do with kids include: reading books, arts and crafts, going on walks, swimming, and watching them experience things for the first time. Exploring local attractions like aquariums or children’s museums is also a go-to! I love doing Montessori style (i.e., guided independent play, including them in daily tasks such as cooking, staying away from screens as much as possible, and much much more); but if the parents have something else in mind, I am happy to work with them!
