More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am training to become a teacher and have spent time in a classroom consistently over the past year. I have also worked several summer camp jobs where I was in charge of taking care of and supervising children, my most recent experience was at a camp for individuals with special needs called Camp Barnabas. Finally I have been babysitting since I was 14 and have been working with kids since I was 12.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am very active, I love playing games and being outside with kids. I also enjoy arts and crafts a lot and have done several different activities involving those with kids in the past. When babysitting I prefer to avoid too much screen time, especially with younger children, so o generally try to engage them in imaginative play or some other activity that is not just watching TV.
My experience with special needs children...
My younger sister has a severe developmental delay and several big behaviors, this is where the majority of my experience comes from. I also worked this past summer at church camp for individuals with special needs called Camp Barnabas. Here I learned to help with Activities of Daily Living, learned how to lead an accessible activities, and got to interact with a plethora of different abilities and ages. Finally I am a volunteer with Young Life Capernaum, the special needs ministry of Young Life.
