Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to encourage learning in the kiddos under my care using their natural curiosity and creativity. Trips to the park or local attractions, arts and crafts or developmentally appropriate sensory and motor activities are a staple in our day to day. I love to take advantage of Portland's good weather days to plan lots of outdoor excursions and spend the rainy days nurturing that creative spark and imagination. I love to read with kiddos of all ages, and often we find ourselves singing and dancing the day away as I love to make up silly little songs to make everything just a little more fun!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I find the most important part of being a nanny is integrating seamlessly into the family dynamic so that parents know that even when they're absent they can feel comfortable knowing how and what their children are learning and that they are meeting milestones while really experiencing the best parts of childhood. I strive to encourage my kiddos to be their own people and express their thoughts and needs in constructive ways while also developing their empathy and compassion for others.
