More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Coaching gymnastics and tumbling, volunteering for church toddler classes, on-call babysitting, daycare employee, teaching field trip science for 4th and 5th graders
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to do crafts with the kids, spend time outside, go on walks, ride bikes/ scooters, go to the park, go on scavenger hunts, play pretend, build and play with toys, have dance parties and song time, and play games. I love to help kids learn new things and do activities they have never done before- such as trying to draw something new, say a new word, or work on a skill to achieve more independence. I love to encourage a mix of stimulation, outside time, and rest in the kids' days.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Helping children with their development, safety being a top priority at all times, and giving children consistency, kindness, comfort, and learning opportunities.
My experience with special needs children...
I have volunteered with a special needs cheerleading team and babysit children with special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There are so many! One of my favorite memories was building "fairy houses" all morning with two girls I nannied. It was storming outside so we took cardboard boxes and transformed them with markers, glitter, and stickers! I even cut doors and windows for the "fairies" to come through. Another of my favorite memories was when the boy whom I have nannies/ babysat since he was three months old finally said my name right before I left for an internship! He pronounced Brooke as "brog" but it definitely warmed my heart. Before I left for this internship, my two nanny families at the time hosted a goodbye party for me and it was oh so special to have that sweet time and connections with all my kiddos and their parents as well!
