More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Throughout high school and college I have been a caregiver for children aged 7mo-13yrs. I primarily do pick-up and drop-off, homework help, dinner/lunch prep then bedtime. For the past two years I cared for two boys aged 8 and 11 in New York's Upper West Side. Previously I cared for two other boys ages 10 and 12 who went to school in the Upper East Side. Before university I was a camp counselor where I taught arts and crafts to groups of 40 kids ages 4-12yrs. I love creating lasting relationships with my families and watching the kiddos grow under my care!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being outdoors, playing sports like soccer, basketball or handball. I also love board games, card games and chess. I'm great at drawing, arts and crafts and making friendship bracelets. If the kids are allowed screen time I'm great at video games like minecraft and roblox -- which I know the kids love!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I’ve always had a natural connection with children because they teach me to embrace my inner child. What draws me most to working with kids is the opportunity to help foster their confidence and curiosity in a positive, lasting way. I love creating a safe, fun, and imaginative environment where they feel free to explore, ask questions, and just be themselves.

My experience with special needs children...

I was a camp counselor for 7 years prior to university where I cared for students with a wide array of needs. I was an art teacher and found that many students looked to me to find an outlet for their hyperactivity, anxiety, or anger. There were more than a handful of students that had ADD, ADHD and/or dietary restrictions. The students on the autism spectrum or those with other developmental differences just needed required more attention. I was not the only counselor in the room with these children and was supervised by the camp director.
