I like to ensure that the people I cared for are safe in what they are doing and that fun is always made while they were with me.

I currently nanny for a family that has a nonverbal autistic child. I have worked with an array of different disabilities in my other job working at a therapeutic riding center.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment was when I saw actual progress with one of the kids I was working with in starting his speech. He was tricking me and then proceeded to tell me "I got you." This was a big milestone since he is nonverbal and can only say one word clearly while the rest will be slurred. I was so proud of him and happy even though he was making the day hard for me.
