Hi,
I am a mom with a graduating high school senior, seeking a part or full time nanny job. I worked in childcare for many years and taught both infant-pre k and high school (special education, writing, and general subjects) for 10 plus years prior to getting into my current work as a writer.

I am a nurturing, responsible caregiver who enjoys spending time reading, playing outside, going on outings, and enjoying music and creative activities with kids.

I have extensive experience with infants to preschool age, including potty training, feeding, and gentle limit-setting. I have cared for children as both a lead and assistant teacher, and have worked in Montessori, individual, and traditional child care settings.

I am happy to assist with light household management, errands, and outings, and have a clean driving record.

More About Me

Several years of child care experience (late 90s to 2024), caring for infants through preschool-aged children in various settings, including Montessori, individual care, babysitting and traditional child care centers.

I enjoy creative activities, imaginary play, reading, splash pads and outdoor play, and outings.

I take the opportunity to engage children in learning through everyday activities and enjoy outings - parks, libraries, art events, museums, and even errands.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Caring for children is a balance of love, nurturing, and structure. It's knowing when to step in and when to let a child (safely!) learn something on their own. I am happy to help correct behaviors and build good habits with gentle guidance and grace.

I am a nurturing caregiver who wants to be respectful of both the child and the family. That means following routines or care guidelines set by the family.

Above all, I believe life with children - though chaotic - should be joyful and I strive to bring enthusiasm and joy to my job.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite child care moments was when I was substitute teaching a few years ago. A pre-k child who was feeling anxious when his mother left stuck by my side most of the day. We talked about going outside and finding another child to play with and how he could approach it. He was able to get involved in a game with a few other children and at the end of the day, he presented me with a portrait he drew of me.
