I have worked in an in-home caregiving situation for 2 years and have been currently working at Wellspring Academy (mainly a Preschool) & have enjoyed working with infants & toddlers under 2 for months. I went from assistant teacher to a floater teacher now, so I have experience with older kids as well 2-4.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Main things: soccer, basketball, bubbles, chalk, splashing in puddles, exploring, swimming, jump rope, and biking, etc !
The most important part about being a nanny...
To care for, learn about, respect and protect the children I've been put in charge of. I was very timid wheni started out in daycare and nanny work, so worried about doing the wrong thing, I never wanted a child to fear me or see me angry. But I quickly learned how to approach discipline in a more restrained and calm manner than I was taught as a child & etc. I hate raising my voice and etc, but safety is also important so I try my best to find the balance of gentle correction & to set the kiddos up for success
My experience with special needs children...
Mainly children on the spectrum, some completely non-verbal with ipads and some who were more verbal & etc.
