A little bit about me

Dear parents,
My name is Diarra.
I’m a childcare provider with more than 12 years experience. I had the pleasure to work with 15 lovely families in New York, Atlanta, Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia. I’m a CPR certified newborn care specialist and a nanny for children aged 1 to 16. I have been responsible for children's educational and entertaining after school activities including homework, reading, painting, singing, hygiene (shower), and meal preparation. I also provided transportation to music lessons and sport activities.
I love working with children. I’m dynamic funny, responsible, and caring. As a Public Health Science graduate from the University of Maryland, I have a strong background in child physiology, early childhood education, health, safety, and family management.
I’m multi-lingual and speak fluently English, French, and Wolof.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Throughout the years I have occupied many childcare related positions including mother's helper, nanny, babysitter, tutor, family manager, and special need childcare.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy learning from children. Every child is unique and have special interest on specific activities. Some children enjoy to express themselves and emotions through arts (ex: painting, dancing, coloring, pottery, acting, play dough, taking pictures..). Others prefer scientific/educational activities (ex: safe at home lab experiments, problem solving games, and reading). I also encourage children to perform activities of daily living to foster independence such as cooking, putting away toys, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and making their bed.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for special needs children with mild to severe Autism, Klinefelter syndrome, and Down Syndrome in New York City and Maryland. I also offered tutoring sessions for children that had trouble reading, speaking, and children suffering from ADHD.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Although I'm still in contact with many families I used to work with, one thing that melts my heart is when they sent me birthday wishes, or push gifts when I had a baby. The simple fact that they remember important days means a lot to me.

Live-In Full-Time Nanny Available in Atlanta, GA: Jasmine L.

Hello! My name is Jasmine, and I’m originally from Italy. I recently moved to Atlanta and I’m excited to start working as a nanny while doing something I truly enjoy: caring for children.

I would describe myself as patient, reliable, caring, and organized. I enjoy creating a safe, positive, and nurturing environment where children can feel comfortable, supported, and encouraged to learn through play, creativity, and everyday routines.

My professional background is in corporate finance, which helped me develop strong responsibility, attention to detail, and organizational skills. I’m now looking forward to bringing those qualities into a more personal and meaningful role with families.

As an Italian, I would also be happy to introduce children to simple Italian words, songs, stories, and cultural activities if the family is interested.

I graduated from Bethune Cookman University in 2019. I have been teaching in Atlanta,Georgia for 5 years now. I’ve taught toddler through pre-K classes. I’ve also been a nanny while attending college at BCU. I believe my role as a teacher is to nurture and encourage the lifelong learning of my students. Through hands-on activities, classroom discussion, and even the use of humor, I hope to prompt students to think creatively and explore their natural curiosity. I want them to feel that no question is too silly to ask.
I am strongly committed to regularly assessing students' comfort and engagement in addition to their mastery of material. I believe that regular testing of concepts is important, but students also need to feel like confident, resilient learners.
