More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In undergrad, I was a lab assistant at a Vanderbilt Child Development lab where I helped guide infants and their families through studies on exploration, learning, and motor development. I also served as Vice President of an organization at Vanderbilt that provided mentorship to school-aged girls in Nashville public schools.
After graduating, I worked in an outpatient medical clinic in Virginia where I facilitated therapeutic art and recreation activities for pediatric patients. Now, I am back in Nashville and am currently a youth mental health case manager, supporting kids 5-18 with significant mental/behavioral challenges and helping them develop healthy habits and coping skills!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Being active outside, arts & crafts, building forts, practicing life skills, learning about new things (e.g. foods, cultures, animals, etc.), reading books aloud (I do the voices) ... you name it! I strive to be child-centered and build activities around whatever is most meaningful to them.
My experience with special needs children...
I have over a year and a half of experience working with children with special needs. I previously worked at a prosthetic and orthotic clinic where I provided support and recreational activities to children with a variety of special needs including ASD, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, amputation/limb difference, and intellectual disability.
In my current role as a youth case worker, I provide support and monitoring for several children/adolescents with ASD, intellectual disability, and severe emotional/behavioral disability.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I helped a three-year-old gradually overcome sensory aversions through playful daily challenges like "shearing a shaving cream sheep", playing with spaghetti noodles, and making Frozen-themed slime. Seeing her toothless smile when she started exploring and enjoying a whole new world of texture was one of the most rewarding feelings I've ever had!

Babysitter Available in Nashville, TN: Kristi S.
I've been babysitting since I was between 12-13 years old. I started out babysitting my neighbors toddlers. I'll be down in Nashville (and love the surrounding areas of Brentwood and Franklin) starting in August as I got promoted and will be working at a new music venue in town with Live Nation so my schedule is not as consistent on a day to day basis. I'm CPR & First Aid certified. I love being around babies and toddlers and taking care of them. I also love the age of preschool to elementary school where I can interact with children and talk to them about all the questions they may or may not have. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Nashville, TN: Rachel R.
Hello!
My name is Rachel, and I'm a second-year graduate student at Vanderbilt University studying to become a School Counselor. I am currently looking to be a part-time nanny and/or babysitter for a family with 1-3 kids of any age.
Over the past eight years, I've worked in two childcare centers, gaining experience with children from 2 months-6 years old. I also worked as a teacher's assistant in an elementary school with students ages 6-12.
I'm patient, creative, and caring, and I bring a lot of energy to play games, plan activities, and keep kids engaged throughout the day. As a nanny, I strive to create a calm, safe, and nurturing environment where children can grow, explore, and have fun.
I have my own car and am comfortable helping with light housekeeping and pets. I'm also flexible with communication and happy to connect in whatever way works best for your family.
I'd love the opportunity to get to know your family and see how I can support your needs!
