I started babysitting around 6+ yrs ago, as well as worked with 3 private families! I have experience with infants to 11yrs old.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I believe that art and nature are a great way for kids to explore and be creative. I think that walks/parks, and outdoor activities including pool days, are very crucial during warmer weather !!! For younger kids, activities like finding bugs and naming/drawing what was found or creating a color pallet with paint and finding leaves or flowers that match the pallet and creating beautiful art!!!
The most important part about being a nanny...
It’s never easy picking a favorite moment between all the 10 kids I have worked with over the years but if I had to choose I would go with one that makes me laugh till my stomach hurts to this day. My first private family I ever worked for was with 5 kids ranging from 6-11, They were all so sweet and I still keep in touch to this day! Well all these kids loved scaring each other and jumping around from corners and scaring you, perfectly normal, right? We had just finished up lunch and so me and the two oldest were loading dish washer while the youngest two got the living room ready for a movie, I had happened to have needed to get a rag from the pantry and when I opened it, I was meant with a 8 year old with a shirt over his head. That part was definitely scary but the part that gets me is I jumped so far back I ran into the stools by the bar seating and fell so slow to the ground and hit so hard and all I could do is laugh. So yeah that was embarrassing but I still laugh to this day.
