Hello! My name is Hannah, and I am currently a college student majoring in sociology at the University of Florida. I love to travel and have been to several different countries, and I would absolutely love visiting several more! I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, volunteering, and reading a good book when I get the chance! I have both paid and unpaid experience, ranging from currently nannying to volunteering. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have volunteered extensively within my church as a lead teacher since I was 15, with the ages of children ranging from infancy to five years old. I also worked as an intern at my high school for three years as a childcare worker for faculty and staff member's children on campus.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing arts and crafts, as well as free play. One of my favorite activities would be reading with a child, I adore seeing their minds grow and develop such a critical skill. I love engaging a child with their imagination and explorative side, as well as outdoor play, such as swimming, outdoor games, or interactive toys both outdoors and inside of the house.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe that children should be provided with the opportunity to grow and flourish and that their childcare providers should be able to assist in that process. I love being able to interact with children and form a connection with them, no matter if it is big or small. Even if it is just a momentary impact on a child's life, I would love to be able to come away from an experience knowing that I made a difference for the child and helped the parent take care of their greatest gift.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have extensive experience with special needs children, but I have helped to provide one-on-one care for a special needs child in a classroom environment. I assisted in providing a calm and safe classroom environment for a couple of hours a day each Sunday while becoming familiar with the child and what their needs were. I was able to successfully fulfill them under the guidance of the parents.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the children at my church had aged out of the classroom I was in at the time, as she was going into first grade. Her mother informed me that after the first day of school, she told her mother that on Sunday, she had to go tell me that she recited her ABCs in front of the whole class, which was something I was helping teach her at the time. It was very endearing to see her bright smile and excited demeanor as she recounted something that she was so proud of. I was also endeared by the fact that she wanted to immediately come to tell me this information because it meant that I had made a positive impact on that child's life.
