I’ve worked at woodstock elementary school in SE portland helping students during lunch and recess time and occasionally working with students who needed a little extra help transitioning from play to a classroom setting. I’ve also worked at at rose city rollers roller derby summer camp as the craft leader. I was responsible for 20-40 kids at a time teaching them fun derby related crafts!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
For rainy days or when we spend time inside I like to encourage younger kids to do some sort of craft or read and for older kids I tend to ask if there's any project they've been wanting to do like reorganize their room and offer to help. Obviously these are all depending on what the kids like and their interests but I try to stay away from screen time.
When the sun is shining I love to take the kids outside to play or walk around. Mainly just try to encourage kids to enjoy the outdoors and nice weather.
