More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Throughout my 20s, I've had the privilege of working with multiple childcare facilities, starting from the age of 15. This experience has allowed me to develop a diverse skill set and a deep understanding of nurturing children's development in various environments.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
As a nanny and childcare worker, I prioritize engaging children in mentally enriching activities. These may include: Creative arts and crafts projects to encourage self-expression and fine motor skills development.Reading and storytelling sessions to foster a love for literacy and imagination. STEM activities like simple experiments or building projects to spark curiosity and critical thinking.Outdoor exploration and nature walks to promote sensory stimulation and a connection to the environment.Music and dance activities to enhance rhythm, coordination, and emotional expression.Age-appropriate puzzles and games to develop problem-solving skills and cognitive abilities.Cooking or baking together to teach math concepts, healthy eating habits, and teamwork.Cultural activities such as learning about different holidays, traditions, and languages to promote diversity and understanding.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of nannying to me is forming meaningful connections with the children I care for and making a positive impact on their lives. Building trust, fostering growth, and creating a safe and nurturing environment where they feel loved and supported are my top priorities.
My experience with special needs children...
My brief experience assisting my special needs cousin, who was 4 at the time, and supporting his mother was profoundly impactful. It ignited my passion for understanding and helping individuals with special needs. Witnessing their journey taught me patience, empathy, and resilience, fueling my dedication to learning more and making a positive difference in their lives and others like them. Nannying for AJ, a nonverbal child with reactive behavior, was an incredibly rewarding experience. Despite his challenges, our bond grew strong, and I found joy in finding creative ways to connect with him. His laughter and moments of comfort filled me with love and fulfillment.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was when a family of three invited me to their Christmas celebration, making it my most memorable one yet. Despite living in California, we created a sand snowman on the beach, decorated it with seashells, and enjoyed the ocean breeze. We also decorated the Christmas tree together and baked festive cookies, making it a unique and unforgettable holiday experience.

Live-In Full-Time Nanny Available in Salt Lake City, UT: Erin A.
I have worked for the past 10 years with kids ages (2-18 years) and have loved every second of it!
I have worked as a special education paraprofessional, PE teacher, substitute, nanny, After-School and Summer-Camp Director, Community Coach for teens with autism, and a Groups Teacher teaching Math, Reading, and Spelling for elementary kids.
I have a very outgoing, fun personality and love to laugh! I am a very creative person who likes to keep busy with art, music, and writing. I love playing with kids who are into sports, hiking, or other physical activities (hence why PE teaching was one of my favorite jobs!) I strive to focus on teaching communication to kids when they're having tantrums, or emotional distress. I don't shout, I don't punish, I love giving a safe space for the kids I work with using empathy and compassion. I have found that this usually works and it creates a more nurturing environment and a better bonding between me and the kid.
