Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have some experience with kids and feel comfortable with working and teaching them. I was a Lifeguard and Swim teacher at Goldfish Swim School in Alexandria. I also worked at a Summer Camp during the Summer of 2023' called Camp Canopy. I facilitated activities, learning, and overall well-being at this 24-hour, 1 month, sleep-away camp. My group worked with DC teens ages 12-15. I was also an After School Teacher at Life Academy in Roanoke VA for a couple of months while at College this past semester.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love water activities! Water balloons, slip and slide, water dunking, water gun fights, I love it all. I feel like I am biased after being a swim teacher and lifeguard for that long. I also love incorporating a little bit of fun learning when with kids. As an example, I am trying to get a child who is really fussy and tired down for nap time, I will read a little bedtime story and ask follow-up questions to the child to see if they comprehended what we have read together. Or another example being if I am driving with the child and to keep things interesting we play ISpy. (safely of course)

The most important thing is making sure whoever is under my care is safe. That is the MOST important thing as a nanny.

I have worked with lids with special needs (autism and down syndrome) at my old job being a Swim Instructor and Lifeguard at Goldfish Swim Schools in Alexandria.

When I was a Camp Counselor at Camp Canopy, this girl who was about 5 or 6, asked me my age. I tell her to guess and she says, "45!" At this time, I was freshly 18... I just laughed and laughed and told her my actual age to which she just ignored me and carried on.
