A little bit about me

Hello! I'm Jed and I am from South Carolina, but have been living in Portland for the past 3 years. I was a nanny for a family of 4 kids for many years when I lived in SC, and it was such a fulfilling job. Now that I am in Portland, I would love to get back to working in child care. I am a goofy, animated, person, who loves to see kids get creative and use their imagination. I was a special ed teachers assistant for a while and I also have a passion for helping kids learn. In my free-time, I love to cook, hike, read, travel, and I am also a portrait photographer.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a nanny for a family of 4 kids for many years, I was also the go-to babysitter for most people in my town in SC.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing art with kids, practicing fine motor skills. I enjoy going to parks, walking and playing and of course reading books.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Number one: making sure the kid is safe, not putting things in their month that shouldn't go there, not running into the street, or corners, etc.
Number two: making sure that their needs are being met, being feed, clean, and getting enough sleep.
Number three: Putting effort into their quality of life, having activities, learning skills, being kind, and being creative.

My experience with special needs children...

I was a special ed teaches assistant, I also took care of many special needs kids as well as having family members with special needs. Also my mother is a special ed teacher.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are so many!! Anytime one of my kids learned a new skill, they were just so eager to show me, weather it was a joke they just heard or cartwheel. seeing them get excited always made my day!

Tyler O. - Seeking Work in Portland

Full-Time Nanny Available in Portland, OR: Tyler O.

Hi! My name is Tyler! I love being a sitter because I like to help out when I can, and become an influence in a child's life. I am the oldest grandchild in my family with made me the automatic babysitter growing up. Spending time with my little cousins never felt like a job as I always kept things fun whether it be through creative or outdoor activities. I also worked for a neighborhood recreation center where I was an after-school and summer camp counselor. This experience also taught me how to help out with many kids at a time and problem resolution skills while maintaining a clean and safe environment. I am both first-aid and CPR certified and take pride in keeping environments safe. I am always hyper-aware in public environments and prioritize safety. I prioritize communication and time management. I also have my own car, so running errands and driving around is not a problem!
Samayiah P. - Seeking Work in Portland

Full-Time Nanny Available in Portland, OR: Samayiah P.

I love to participate in arts & crafts and i feel like all kids should be allowed to also. It’s a way of showing emotion and having fun at the same time, while growing their imagination which is an important part of children’s development. I love to explore nature, and view parts of our world that are so beautiful. Even if it’s just playing in the grass🌳🌈 I am a very easy going person, full of love and laughter. I am a high school student, but i do want to work with children in my future, and continue nannying through my college years. I feel i am a reliable, respectful, on time, and a flexible supportive person.
Ra Anne S. - Seeking Work in Portland

Live-In Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Portland, OR: Ra Anne S.

I have 3 years of official childcare experience and am also a full-time mother. I will, and am open to, recertify my cpr and first aid. I am also open to being able to drive your children after the first 30 days, as I prefer to understand the temperament of your children as far as travel. I have been caring for children in many different capacities voluntarily since I was very young; I helped raise my own baby sister. I am looking to move to Portland and am open to live-in availability. I prefer evenings and two additional days off so I may have personal time with my daughter who will be accompanying me. I am a loving disciplinarian type who loves adventures and new experiences. I am able to help with ALL AGES.

Emerald D. - Seeking Work in Portland

Full-Time Nanny Available in Portland, OR: Emerald D.

Hello, I’m Emerald, I’ve worked with kids since my early teens, and have years of experience with kids of all ages in single families, nanny-shares, and daycare facilities.
I studied child development in college and love to put my skills to use caring for children from infants to school-age. I believe it takes a village to raise happy, healthy kids and it’s so beneficial for them to have multiple trusted adults in their life that they can trust and look up to. I currently specialize in infants/toddlers but love every stage of development! Read-aloud/creative imagination games are my forte, and I love to encourage emotional regulation and healthy development through age-appropriate activities. I’m well-versed in weaning/potty-training, as well as all the other fun milestones. I enjoy exploring the world with kids (visiting the library, zoo, etc) to encourage self-confidence/confidence in their community. I am pet-friendly/have no pet or food allergies. I am CPR/first aid certified.
