I have worked 20+ years in the childcare industry as a lead teacher, nanny, sitter, daycare director of a nonprofit organization and as the director of an after school program as well as having my 7D license and driving a school van. I have worked with a number of diverse families and children of all ages.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy engaging children in fun and educational play such as arts and crafts, board games to outdoor play, cooking to reading and more. I also enjoy going on fun outings in the neighborhood to planning exciting adventures for us to go to playgrounds, musuems and the zoo.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe safety is the most important aspect of providing childcare while engaging children in education play, and continually providing them the opportunities to grow and thrive in a nurturing environment to be a main objective. I have also found building open and honest communication is the best way to build trust and dependability and consistency to be vital in assuring the very best possible care.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children who have been diagnosed with behavioral issues to physical disability, delays to children with adhd, autism to minor delays and I can honestly say it is not only rewarding but a complete joy to see children progress when receiving the proper care and learning environment. It’s amazing to see the huge amount of learning and growth that comes when addressed properly and the benefit of early intervention.
