A little bit about me

I have been caring for children since I can remember. My little brother is 6 years younger than me, and I helped my mom take care of him! And now I get to help him raise my niece and nephew! My goddaughter is 4 and my nephew is about to be 1!

I was the designated babysitter for my entire neighborhood while in middle and high school. Every family would fight over who got to have me babysit that evening. Eventually a few families realized I could babysit ALL of their children, so I ended up taking care of 6+ children at once.

One of the many families in my neighborhood I would babysit for had 2 children, Emilia 4 and Christopher 6. Christopher has Down syndrome, and his parents were nervous about leaving him for the first time with a non-family member. I’ll always remember that family because of Christopher.

When their parents got home after their date, Christopher told his parents that I was his new best friend, and that’s when I became their forever babysitter!

I helped to raise my niece and nephew from the moment they were born. My niece is 4.5 and my nephew is about to be 1!

I’ve been babysitting since I was 11. So 24 years of paid experience and 29 years of personal familial experience.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is to provide the children we care for with live and support. Take care of them just like we take care of our own family. Be the support for the parents and ensure their babies are protected and cared for while they are not home.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs children is the same as my experience with all of the children I’ve taken care of.

I minored in special education in college. Not only that, but I am knowledgeable in all aspects of early childhood and development.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I nannied for an 11 and 7 year old, and they were the coolest kids! I made sure to have them do their homework and Kumon. Helping them understand and learn made me so proud and happy. But I also loved when all their schoolwork was done, we would go outside and play tag, or jump on the trampoline, or play pretend we were superheros.

Whenever I tucked them in at night they always hugged me and said “I love you Lynnsey! Goodnight!!!” That will forever warm my heart knowing they adopted me into their family.
