Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked at sleep-away camp with 3rd-5th graders for two years and worked at another sleep away camp in the health center. I have also spent the last two years working as a night shift CNA at Boulder Community Hospital on the Oncology/Urology floor. I have worked at a preschool summer camp for a summer, and I also spent nearly every weekend babysitting back in middle and high school.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love arts and crafts, board games, video games, and anything outside! I LOVE snow and winter, so I’m interested in going outside pretty much anytime!
The most important part about being a nanny...
It’s important for me to be able to bond and hang out with the kids! I want them to feel comfortable doing anything with me, asking for help, and feeling comfortable and safe confiding in me as a trusting adult.
My experience with special needs children...
When I worked at both sleep away camps, there were several kids I cared for with special needs. Last summer at one sleep away camp, I worked to help and care for a 13 year old with Type 1 Diabetes (which I have as well). I monitored her blood sugar during the day and overnight, and made sure to help her with tricky situations. I have also babysat for a family who has a young kid with Type 1 Diabetes. In addition to taking care of kids, I worked at a hospital as a CNA for the last two years.
