I have been taking care of my little cousins from the ages of 4 months to 8 years old, by myself for a long period of time. I was a babysitter for a family I lived near for a few months before I went off to college! I have changed diapers, made meals, cleaned houses, and put children to sleep.

Making sure you listen to the kids! I think anyone can watch a kid, but listening to them and doing what is best for them whether they tell you or the parent tells you, and actually trying to help and support them is so important!
My experience with special needs children...
I have a little cousin that I watched for three years that is on the spectrum. From the time he was 2 to 5. I always remember to have patience and attention of detail whenever watching children, but especially while watching a child that is on the spectrum.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite babysitting moment has to be learning how to work with each kid. Building relationships and bonds with each child I have watched has definitely been watching our bond go from strangers to best friends!
