More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I volunteered at an after school child care place where I helped with homework, games, and cleaning. I had a job for about a year where I went through donations consisting of clothes and household items, and my old manager brought her baby to work so I was around a baby for at least 10 hours a week and helped feed, calm down, entertain, and play with him. I have done occasional babysitting jobs for these two kids, and for one of them I came over while her parents were on a date night multiple times and cleaned, did crafts and games, read to and with her, and helped her get ready for bed. For the other little boy, we did similar things.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love playing games, going to parks, and doing crafts with kids. I enjoy reading to kids and finding out what they’re interested in in order to make the babysitting experience full of happy memories. I also make an effort to encourage kids to clean up their messes to implement good habits in their day to day life.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most part about being a nanny and working with children in general is to understand behavior before reprimanding it. If a child is being grumpy or angry, I try to figure out why they are acting like that and then adjust the situation based on the cause. If I notice that a kid is sad and down, I try not to force them to tell me whats wrong, and instead will make sure they know I want to listen and am there to help and try to get them to tell me on their own time. If they still haven’t budged, I will tell you or the caregivers that they were acting a little off so that you are aware of what is happening. One of my favorite things about kids is getting to watch their interests and joys spiral into a pureness you don’t always see in older people. Watching a child beam about what they did at school that day is a highlight that is not always seen on adults and teenagers alike. I always try to nurture their happiness and welcome their energy, not dampen it.
My experience with special needs children...
I have not babysat a special needs child, but my aunt has mental disorders and special needs and I have helped care for her. I helped bathe, feed, and prepare her for bed by myself on multiple occasions. I have also helped kids with high functioning autism and ADHD do school work and hung out and entertained them. I am patient and am good at matching a kids energy, and I also have first and second hand experiences with common autistic discomforts, such as unwelcome textures and tastes, knowing when things can get overstimulating, calming techniques, and am also good at improvising activities to better suit the child.

Hi! My name is Lauren Clark, and I am currently a Political Science/Pre-Law student at Boise State University. I have several years of experience working in professional office environments where I developed strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Through roles as an office assistant, team manager, and school leadership positions, I’ve learned how to stay responsible, dependable, and calm in busy situations.
I enjoy working with people and creating positive, supportive environments, which is why I’m excited about the opportunity to work as a summer nanny. I am energetic, organized, and patient, and I would love the chance to help families by providing a safe, fun, and dependable environment for their children this summer.

My name is Abigail Siddall. I am a 22-year-old student-athlete at Washington State University currently pursuing my MBA. I recently graduated with my BFA in Film Production at the Savannah College of Art and Design this June.
Growing up, my mom worked as the Director of Operations at a non-profit for inner-city families in Detroit. I got to be a volunteer involved with the program's events, which allowed me to interact and help entertain and take care of young kids. At the age of 14, I began babysitting for families around our neighborhood. I did so until college, where I moved to Savannah and worked as a part-time nanny for a private family for all 4 years of my undergraduate. I worked for 1 child who was 11-14, but cognitively functioned at 3-6 years old. With an emphasis on schedule and consistency, I prepared meals, administered medicine, supervised play, assisted with reading skills, and created walks / activities around downtown while adapting to stimulation tolerance.

Hello! Being raised by educators, I’ve always been taught the importance of child care, whether that be a teacher, or a nanny. It’s a privilege to work with children and get the chance to see the world through their eyes. I love being creative with kiddos, especially fun craft projects.
