More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I bring 18 years of experience working with children in both classroom and home settings. I’m Montessori certified, Positive Discipline certified, and trained in the SEL curriculum Zones of Regulation. I’ve served as a lead teacher in Montessori, Reggio-inspired, and play-based classrooms, as well as in before and after school programs for school-aged children. I also provide both short- and long-term nanny and babysitting care, blending my educational background with warm, individualized support. My approach focuses on fostering independence, creativity, and emotional resilience in every child I care for.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love creating engaging, hands-on experiences that support children’s growth across all areas of development. I believe in experiential and sensory-based learning, especially through open-ended art, where the focus is on the process, not the product. I enjoy reading with children to build phonemic awareness and foster a lifelong love of books. I also support cognitive and social-emotional development through thoughtful conversations, problem-solving, and play.
Some of my favorite activities include outdoor exploration, like finding insects, identifying local plants and trees, and gardening together. I enjoy trips to the library, nature walks, and kitchen time where we cook or bake. These activities encourage trying new foods and help build math and sequencing skills in fun, natural ways. I strive to create a calm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, curious, and empowered to grow.

Full-Time Nanny Available in Bellingham, WA: Meredith S.
Hi! I am a senior in college studying psychology. I was previously working as a registered behavior technician, where I gained experience with individuals with ASD. Before that I worked as a part time mural artist as well as a volunteer at several local elementary schools. Fun fact about me is that I play the clarinet, and I’m currently learning the guitar! I’m a very active person. I love to keep the kiddos I work with moving and grooving. I could see myself being a great fit for a group of homeschool kiddos, individuals with ASD or just an active family looking for an extra set of hands. Really, I’d like to think I can do it all ;)
