Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
During my time studying at university, I babysat a professor's young daughter from when she was about 2-5 years old. Also, when I studied abroad a few years ago I frequently helped my younger host sister with her homework. She was about 8 years old then. Occasionally, I would also help supervise her older brothers. In my high school years, I attended private school with students of all ages, preschool and up. I spent a lot of my free time during and after school tutoring and playing with the younger students.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like engaging with kids' special interests. Whether they are excited about dinosaurs, coloring, building blocks, etc. I use this as a starting point for conversations and playtime to build a relationship with them. I really enjoy taking kids outside and doing hands-on activities like crafts, sidewalk chalk, blowing bubbles, etc. I also really enjoy reading to children after they're worn out enough to sit still.

The most important part is realizing that kids are people too. They're just younger. You can relate to them and really build meaningful relationships as long as you have some patience.

I remember blowing bubbles with a toddler I was babysitting, and one of the bubbles was caught by a gust of wind. It blew over the top of the three-story building we were standing next to. She was in hysterical giggles over this. Her joy was so contagious.
