Over 10 years. I started in my 20’s as a behavior interventionist/therapist working with children at home and in school. I have now been a special education teacher for the past 7 1/2 years.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Some of my favorite moments are when students who are pre-verbal, start using single words to communicate. Parents tell me how happy they are, and how meaningful it was when they fist called them mommy or daddy. It’s also endearing when they call me mommy, or learn how to say my name. Laughing with my students is the best medicine in the world, so anytime we can laugh together, it’s amazing.
