A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Soraida, and I am a professional nanny with over six years of experience caring for newborns (including twins), infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children.

I am a warm, dependable, energetic, and patient caregiver who believes children learn best when they feel safe, loved, and truly seen. I create nurturing environments that support each child's emotional, physical, social, and cognitive development through play, creativity, exploration, and consistent routines.

I enjoy planning engaging activities, encouraging independence, preparing healthy meals, and partnering with parents through open communication and respect. Caring for children is more than my profession—it's my vocation. I feel honored every time a family trusts me with the people they love most. I also love animals and am very comfortable working in homes with pets.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

During the past six years, I have cared for newborns (including twins), infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. I cared for twins from the time they were two months old until they were ready for toddlerhood. Later, I joined another wonderful family before their baby girl was born and cared for her from birth until she was ready to start preschool, while also helping care for her older brother.

My experience includes establishing routines, preparing healthy meals, supporting developmental milestones, organizing educational and creative activities, reading, music, outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, and encouraging independence through play. I believe every child deserves to feel safe, loved, respected, and encouraged to explore the world with confidence. I value open communication with parents and always strive to provide a nurturing, reliable, and joyful environment where children can thrive.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I believe childhood should be filled with curiosity, creativity, movement, and joy. I love planning activities that make children excited to learn and explore the world around them.

Some of my favorite activities include reading stories, creating arts and crafts, singing, dancing, cooking simple recipes together, imaginative play, dress-up days, building forts, treasure hunts, science experiments, nature walks, picnics, gardening, visiting parks, and exploring the outdoors to discover insects, flowers, leaves, and other little wonders.

I also enjoy inventing stories, encouraging pretend play, celebrating small milestones, and creating special traditions that children remember with joy. Whenever parents are interested, I love planning activities that bring the whole family together, creating meaningful moments and lasting memories.

My goal is simple: to help children learn, laugh, grow, and feel loved every single day.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is the trust that families place in me every day. I believe there is no greater responsibility than caring for the people parents love most. My goal is to give them peace of mind, knowing their children are safe, loved, respected, and receiving attentive, nurturing care while they are at work or away from home.

I also believe that the early years of childhood shape the future. Every hug, every story, every moment of encouragement, every new discovery, and every act of kindness helps build a confident, compassionate, and curious child.

For me, being a nanny is much more than providing care. It is an opportunity to make a positive difference in a child's life and, in my own small way, help build a kinder and happier world—one child at a time.

My experience with special needs children...

While living in Colombia, I volunteered for several years at a foundation that supported children with special needs, many of whom had also been affected by the armed conflict. During that time, I assisted with feeding, mobility support, daily care, play, and recreational activities, always following the guidance of the professional staff.

This experience taught me the importance of patience, empathy, respect, and meeting every child where they are. It strengthened my ability to build meaningful connections and reinforced my belief that every child deserves love, dignity, encouragement, and the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It is honestly hard to choose just one favorite nanny moment because there are so many. One of the greatest joys of caring for babies is having the privilege of witnessing their "firsts"—their first smiles, first words, first steps, first teeth, and the exciting transition to solid foods. Watching their unique little personalities grow and blossom day by day is incredibly rewarding.

I also treasure the everyday moments: hearing a child's laughter, receiving an unexpected hug, being told "I love you," or seeing the pride on their face after accomplishing something new.

I love being a playful, creative, and fun nanny. There is nothing better than when children invite me into their imaginary world, laugh together, and see me as someone they feel happy, safe, and excited to spend time with.

Knowing that I have earned a family's trust and helped create a happy childhood is the greatest reward of all.
