A little bit about me

Hi! My name is johana, and I'm 23 years young! Soon 24! I've been babysitting kids from ages 3-15 throughout my 4 years of high school, and now I have babysat and nanny for 3 different families with 3+ kids whos ages range from infants to 2-7 years old. I enjoy being around kids and helping them build learning skill while still having fun playing around and keeping a safe environment. My nanny/babysitting journey started by looking after my little cousins after school throughout my last year of middle school, and later on during my high school years I would look after them along with some of their little friends, or sometimes family friends kids after school until their parents would be out of work and pick them up. I'm currently only looking for occasional babysitting since i am currently working for other families. I am looking something for Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays. My availability for those days are listed.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

When I used to attend church I would be part of the teaching/caring for kids group, where I would make sure to care for their needs, keep them engaged in learning and doing activities, until the ceremony had ended. Also during high school a friend and I volunteered in a Halloween event at my local kindergarten, where our task was to give out cady to the kids after they've completed a little activity, a trick for a treat! It was very nice experience.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing activities like drawing, reading, playing with their toys, singing little songs, baking, doing bubble baths with their little music and toys, doing DIYs, and watching movies! I love movies. Some other learning skill I enjoy doing is letting the kids help out with cleaning, cooking etc, when they want to feel/be included, walking them through the process, letting them take the lead so they dont feel too pampered! but of course with my supervision. I also enjoy helping them out with homework if needed or just explain something they didn't understand and let them try on their own before giving up.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny/babysitter, I would say is bringing comfort to the kids, making a fun and safe environment for them where they can learn and have fun while doing so. Make them feel safe to be themselves and express their craziness/creativity, to be a safe space for them to make mistakes but also be a guide to teach them a better outcome!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny/babysitting moment would be baking with the kids. I love baking and hope to one day follow a career in that industry. Sharing moments like that with other people, I enjoy it a lot. It reminds me of my grandmother how I would always be right next to her making AMAZING, yummy food, and baked goods! Another thing would be just engaging with them in general. I've always found it easier and fun to talk to kids, they're just pure and loving. They might be little but their imagination is beautiful, the random topics they bring up, the stories they come up with, and how excited they get when you engage with them, is just so cute and wholesome to see.
