Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have babysat for multiple families throughout my life. I have worked at a daycare/early intervention center, worked in a preschool, and worked at a substitute teacher. I also work regularly in my church nursery and with the special needs children there.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
My favorites are anything creative so coloring, playing pretend, building forts or with legos, and other things like that! I also love letting kids spend time outdoors- from parks to pools to riding bikes to just playing in the dirt!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Something that matters most to me about being a nanny is making sure the kid/kids i’m caring for feel heard and understood. Practicing healthy communication with kids is very important to me!
My experience with special needs children...
I grew up with a special needs cousin who I am very close with. He has autism and has given me to opportunity to learn about the disorder and learn to communicate with and care for people with autism. I also worked as a temporary paraprofessional at a local preschool for two children with special needs, substituted in special needs classrooms, and serve regularly at my church with special needs children.
