The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part about being a nanny is building a trusting relationship with the kids. It's all about creating a safe and supportive environment where they feel comfortable being themselves. When they know they can rely on you, it makes everything so much easier—whether it's helping with homework, playing games, or just being there to listen
My experience with special needs children...
Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work closely with special needs children, and it has been a rewarding experience. I find it incredibly fulfilling to create a supportive and inclusive environment where these children can thrive and feel valued. It's all about understanding their unique needs and abilities, and adapting activities to ensure they have a positive and enriching experience. It's truly heartwarming to see their progress and happiness.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Oh, I have so many favorite moments! One that really stands out is when I was babysitting a little girl who was really shy. We spent the day doing arts and crafts, and she was hesitant at first. But once we started painting, she opened up and started sharing her ideas. By the end of the day, she was laughing and showing me her masterpiece! It felt amazing to see her come out of her shell and have fun.

Babysitter Available in Washington, DC: Akel H.
Hi, my name is Akel Harrington. I have basically 18 years worth of childcare experience due to me having four siblings on my mother side and four siblings on my father side and being the oldest on both sides I had to grow up helping my mother and my father with my siblings which also helped me gain the natural skill of helping out with children, which led to me doing three years of paid babysitting/childcare. I am also good with kids with special needs because I also have one sibling on my mother side who has autism and another one of my dad side who has autism.
