A little bit about me

Hello! I know how daunting it can be to trust your littles with other people. It's why my main goal when working with new families is this -- a healthy parent nannying relationship is key to every successful day. Nannying is a huge part of my life, but when I'm not working I am focusing on my writing. I recently graduated from the University of Tampa with my BA in writing. One of my passions is the creative world in all its aspects. I love to bring this into my work with art activities with kids, reading as often as I can to them, and delving into the creative sphere. I enjoy many outdoor activities and try to keep myself as active as possible outside of work. I've been working with children since I was 11 years old -- from small babysitting roles to turning it into a career now as a nanny. I work with all age groups but I specialize working with infants. I look forward to sharing more of my skills and alleviate some stress for parents.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a daycare teacher for 3 years. I worked in all classes (0-5) but was mostly assigned to the infant room for my last two years. I was a lead teacher and assistant. I took various workshops and got CPR certified. I was a part-time nanny for a family with twins and and a toddler on weekends and worked full-time for a family for 3 years with an infant and toddler. I babysat on various occasions for all age groups in different settings (group/temple/home/etc). I traveled with families and stayed overnights with children when parents went away for trips or work. I currently work for an agency in the Tampa Bay area that places me with different families daily as well as working part-time for two separate families.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

For infants, I enjoy engagement and working on building their skills. This includes touching/feeling/seeing with books, textures with food, being outdoors in stroller, engaging them in the world around them so that their curiosities are met. For children who are more mobile I enjoy being outside with them as much as possible, taking them to museums, parks, the beach, pool, etc. I focus on engaging them in the world as well and keep screen time to an absolute minimum when possible. For older kids I like them to guide the day depending on what they enjoy -- their likes and dislikes begin as they get older. They enjoy art, or writing, or maybe cars. I like to help them navigate the worlds they like so they can get to know it better.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A healthy parent and nanny relationship. This is the most essential part of being a nanny. My focus is allowing the parent to lead, not over stepping boundaries as a nanny, and respecting the home life. Parents know best and want the best for their children.
